His Story So Far…

 

Bernard Piccione is a dynamic technology executive known for ensuring excellence across information technology systems, processes, and teams. With his expert ability to create and execute technology strategy aligned with aggressive business goals and objectives, Bernard has led enterprise-wide efforts to establish IT as an invaluable partner in optimizing operational performance and transforming multiple private equity-backed organizations. Throughout his career, Bernard has leveraged his blend of technical, financial, and business acumen to realize significant cost savings and generate new revenue through enhancing technology across organizations.

 At the start of his career, Bernard gained hands-on technical experience as well as served in the United States Army Air Defense/NATO. In 2005, Bernard was tapped to create a software quality assurance team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts where he developed and scaled an expert team of 75+ staff. Bernard has brought his ability to build and scale teams throughout his career. As the Vice President of IT, Quality, and Training at Advanced Patient Advocacy, Bernard was brought in to turn around an underperforming Enterprise IT platform, enabling the company’s significant growth in just one year.

 Most recently, Bernard has held Chief Information Officer roles within the healthcare industry, blending his strengths to uncover wasted spend, consolidate vendors, and realize economy of scale to create a meaningful impact companywide. At Brighton Health Plan Solutions, Bernard managed a team of 65 and championed strategy to enhance IT across the company, resulting in its later acquisition. At Complex Care Solutions, Bernard built a team of 40 employees leading efforts to optimize IT across the company, ranging from implementing a new LMS and online university to building a proprietary suite of applications, efforts which positioned the company for a successful private equity exit scenario.

 Bernard currently serves as the Chief Information Officer for Interdent Service Corporation where he was hired to rebuild the company’s IT organization and elevate IT across the enterprise. With his ability to identify opportunities for growth and increased efficiency, Bernard has led improvements across every aspect of IT, and as a result has realized more than $1MM in annualized savings and cost savings from reduced clinic outages.

 As a hands-on technology leader, Bernard focuses on investing in his people to create optimal outcomes. Bernard is a pragmatic, visionary leader regularly recognized for building teams around a common mission and goal and driving team results through leading by example.

 Bernard’s professional experience is additionally complemented by his prior work as Chief Information Officer for an international IT consulting company partnering with clients across healthcare, eCommerce, finance, and manufacturing. Bernard possesses a Master of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Boston University.

 InterDent provide full service business and administrative support to dental practices so that the dentists can focus on the delivery of the highest quality clinical care and patient satisfaction and of achieving professional fulfillment.
InterDent supports nearly 600 dentists at 200 practice locations across 8 Western States.  As CIO, we are transforming the entire technical landscape leveraging world class technologies.

Past Positions

Complex Care Solutions, Chief Information Officer

Complex Care Solutions is a Manhattan based 1200 employee health care services organization, conducting in-home health assessments nationwide encompassing short and long-term care management coordination.

Turnover at June 2014 was $31m at the time Warburg Pincus invested in the Company and I joined as part of the team involved in turning the business around. By the time of my departure in 2016 turnover had risen by 59%.

MagnaCare, LLC, Chief Information Officer and EVP

MagnaCare, a leader in self-insurance and healthcare services, helps employers in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey take control of their healthcare costs.

For more than 20 years, MagnaCare has served self-insured employers and health, workers’ compensation and no-fault payers, including commercial insurers, TPA’s, government entities, and labor markets. Employing 600 in total of whom 65 were in the IT Department.

Advanced Patient Advocacy LLC - Vice President of IT, Quality & Training

Advanced Patient Advocacy, LLC provides disability evaluation and advocacy services. The company helps individuals secure government benefits. It also offers hospital-based programs that help patients secure
resources to cover the cost of healthcare. The company employs 1250 throughout US and has an IT staff of 75.

I was recruited by the CEO to turnaround and build an Enterprise IT platform and organization. Throughout this process turnover grew by 22% in just over one year.
